Sissy de JesusSelma De Jesus, President

Selma is the Board’s President. She had been informally assisting the Board since its inception in 2006, then joined the Board as Secretary. Selma has been a Cantamar resident since April 2006 and she, along with her husband Allen and two sons (Michael and Eric) is extremely happy to be living in this community reminiscent of the close-knit neighborhoods of the ’50’s. Selma is originally from Puerto Rico, but she lived 9 years in Pasadena, California prior to moving to Miami. She has been a Miami resident since 1991.

Tom DohertyTom Doherty, Vice President

A result of a job transfer after being at Newark Liberty Airport for 20 years, The Dohertys decided it was time for a change back in 2005 and relocated to South Florida. My wife’s name is Gail and we have 2 adult children: a son, Dylan, and a daughter Kyllie. I have always been very active in many different organizations, doing my part to contribute either through a church-based organization or a community-based organization. I have sat on several boards and look forward to being a contributing member to our community and those that make up Cutler Bay.

Pete QuintasPete Quintas, Treasurer

My wife and I decided to move to Cutler Bay to be close to our daughter, son and grandchildren. My son and his wife are also Cantamar residents for the last ten years. I am managing partner in our Real Estate Firm here in Miami-Dade County, and founded the DQ Luxury Team. We provide professional real estate services, both residential and commercial. I have lived in the South Florida area all my life. My pledge is to continue to make Cantamar one of the most desirable communities in Cutler Bay.

Orlando Munoz, directorOrlando Muñoz, Director

Having lived in Miami for the grand majority of my life, my wife Jacky and I moved to Cantamar in 2006 and decided that this would be a great place to start a family. Today we are the proud parents of our son, Adrian and our daughter, Mia. We look forward to weekends outdoors where we can ride our bikes around the neighborhood or take our golf cart down to one of our nearby parks. My professional experience as a public servant has allowed me the opportunity to work with and help others. I decided to serve on this board to do the same in my neighborhood. My intention is to make sound and well-thought-out decisions so that Cantamar can continue to thrive as one of the safest and most desirable places to live in Cutler Bay.

Meet Your Committee Chairs

Pam LuckenPam Lucken, Chair, Commmunications Committee

admin@tgms.com (put “Cantamar Communications Committee” in the subject line)

Pam has been a Cantamar resident since 2008 when she moved from Kansas to begin working at the University of Miami Law School. She and Mike are enjoying the outdoor activities here and have taken up bicycling and kayaking. They are proud to reside in Cantamar, and they want Cantamar’s reputation as a premier community in Cutler Bay to continue. Pam recognizes the big shoes she has to fill (with Totsie and Brian Walton moving), but she will do her best!

[The Board has agreed to hire the Waltons to continue to maintain the website and send out the emails. Pam will be coordinating all Communications between the Waltons and the Board and other committees. The Waltons will continue to check the webmaster@cantamarhoa.org mail box on a regular basis for items to be added to the website.]

Liza HerreraLiza Herrera, Chair, Violations Committee

admin@tgms.com (put “Violations Committee” in the subject line)

Liza and her family moved to Cantamar in January 2006. Her husband John and son Jon Eric enjoy the proximity to the beautiful parks and ocean. She loves the small town feel after moving from Kendall. Liza is originally from Panama, she came to Miami to study Engineering. She currently works as an Engineer for Miami Dade County and has been a Miami resident since 1995. Liza has been a member of the committee since 2007.

white_placeholderPete Quintas, Chair, Architectural Control Committee

admin@tgms.com (put “ACC” in the subject line)

As ACC Chair, Pete wants to continue making sure that our community maintains its high standards.
See above (under Board of Directors) for Pete’s photo and bio.

maria_hurtadoMaria Hurtado, Chair, Traffic Calming and Speeding Concern Committee

(This is a temporary committee created to attend Town Meetings on traffic/speeding and demonstrate the need for speed humps or other devices to reduce hazards in the community.)

My husband and I moved to Cantamar in 2005, we were one of the crazy people who spent the night in the Publix parking lot to keep our place in line to purchase a home. We absolutely love our neighborhood and our neighbors. My parents also live here. So many of us talk about the issue with speeding and cut-through traffic in our beautiful neighborhood; we recognize this is a concern. I have been working for about 2 years to bring attention to our issues. My hope is that through our committee’s and the HOA’s tenacious efforts working with the Town of Cutler Bay, we can implement solutions to these concerns. Any input or support is always appreciated; my email is mycatbird@comcast.net.

johnJohn Bourne, Chair, Social Committee

admin@tgms.com (put “Social Committee” in the subject line)

My family and I moved to Cantamar in 2011. Although not originally from Florida, we now consider Miami “home.” After being here for only about one month, we won a turkey at a raffle, and have been hooked on the social events ever since. I believe our events are the key to creating a cohesive neighborhood. As the new Chair of the Social Committee, I look forward to working on the current events in our community and developing new events.
